2014 Pinot Noir, Sonoma Coast
A darker Pinot with ripe cherry and earthy features
This Lovely Pinot Noir was produced exclusively with clone Pinot 828 from a vineyard near the famous Petaluma Gap. It is full of dark berry and cherry notes, leather and spice, perhaps a hint of Cola
"Ripe bing cherries, leather and spice fill the nose. A nice round mouthfeel with flavors of Spicy baked rhubarb, plum, cherry and cola"
"The growing season of 2014 was the third in a string of stunning vintages in the Sonoma coast. Dry, mild temperatures brought on early budbreak and harvest, while the persistent drought helped produce small berries with concentrated flavors and elegant tannins. The overall length of the growing season was normal, allowing for full ripening and balanced acidity."
"Picked during the cool of the night, we hand sorted and destemmed the fruit into 1-1.5 ton glycol chilled tanks. With an extended cold soak we extracted optimal fruit and earth characteristics. fermented for 26 days at temperatures at or below 68 degrees Fahrenheit. Aged in 100% new french oak for 26 months"
